Misrata, February 18, 2026 – The head of the Government of National Unity inaugurated the Al-Qazir Specialized Medical Complex and the maintenance and development project of the Municipal Hotel in the city of Misrata on Wednesday. This followed the completion of comprehensive restoration works that targeted the building as a historical landmark according to modern hotel standards.

The head of government toured the sections of the complex, reviewing the progress of work and technical preparations. The complex includes multiple specialized clinics, a 24-hour emergency department, in addition to modern laboratories and advanced equipment.

The Prime Minister confirmed the continuation of work to develop health facilities in various cities and regions. This will be achieved by completing maintenance and expansion projects and equipping them with modern medical devices and equipment. This contributes to raising the efficiency of treatment services and ensuring the provision of comprehensive healthcare that meets the needs of citizens.

During the inauguration of the Municipal Hotel maintenance and development project in Misrata, the head of government also took a tour inside the hotel’s corridors. He reviewed its various facilities and the level of technical and service preparations, praising the efforts made to rehabilitate the building and preserve its historical architectural character.

The development work included reinforcing the structural elements with a steel frame, completely removing and rebuilding the basement roof, in addition to rehabilitating the external facades and restoring their details to their original state since its construction, preserving its historical identity.

The building consists of a basement and two floors, with an area of 289 square meters for the basement, 879 square meters for the ground floor, and 795 square meters for the first floor. The hotel includes 26 single and double rooms, in addition to 3 suites.

The head of government inspected the work on the implementation of the Sports City Bridge in Misrata. He was briefed on the completion rates and the progress of technical and engineering work at the site, listening to explanations from the project managers about the completed stages and the plan for its completion according to the specified timelines.

The bridge, which has reached 60% completion, extends for 950 meters in length and 28 meters in width. This contributes to improving traffic flow and addressing traffic congestion, especially around the Sports City and neighboring vital areas.

He emphasized the importance of completing the project according to the highest technical and engineering standards and as soon as possible, due to its vital role in alleviating congestion and facilitating movement within the city.
