Tripoli, January 24, 2026 – The head of the Government of National Unity has issued instructions to the Ministry of Oil and Gas to open avenues of cooperation with the Egyptian side and to activate technical and executive pathways to ensure that understandings are translated into clear work programs that serve the development of the energy sector in both countries.

This came during his meeting today with the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources on the sidelines of the Libya Energy and Economy Summit, which was held today in the capital, Tripoli.

The meeting discussed ways to expand the partnership between the two countries in the fields of exploration and production, as well as the logistical services accompanying field development, in addition to opportunities for technical cooperation and the exchange of expertise to contribute to raising the efficiency of the sector and achieving common interests.

The summit also witnessed today the signing of a cooperation memorandum with the Egyptian state to enhance coordination in the energy sector and support joint projects in the coming phase.
