Tripoli, December 20, 2025 – The official in charge of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation discussed today, Saturday, with his Mauritanian counterpart, on the sidelines of the second ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, bilateral cooperation relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to enhance and develop them in various fields.

The two sides also reviewed the latest developments in the political situation in Libya, where they emphasized the importance of a purely Libyan-Libyan solution and rejected any foreign interference in this process.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance stability and support efforts aimed at consolidating aspects of security and peace in Libya, serving the aspirations of the Libyan people for stability and development.

They also touched on the latest regional and international developments, and stressed the importance of continuous coordination and consultation between the two foreign ministries on issues of common interest, especially within the framework of joint African action and supporting efforts to enhance security, stability, and development on the African continent.

The two ministers praised the depth of fraternal relations between Libya and Mauritania, affirming their keenness to continue pushing them towards broader horizons, activating existing cooperation mechanisms, and exchanging expertise to contribute to achieving integration and rapprochement between the two countries.
