Tripoli, January 8, 2026 — The official in charge of managing the affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation received His Excellency Dr. Hafizur Rahman, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of India to the State of Libya, on Thursday morning at the Ministry’s headquarters.

He welcomed the Indian Ambassador, wishing him success in carrying out his diplomatic duties, and affirmed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s support for all procedures related to completing his accreditation as Ambassador of the Republic of India to Libya.

During the meeting, the existing bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries were reviewed, along with ways to enhance and develop them in various fields of mutual interest. Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing consultation and coordination to serve common interests.

The official in charge stressed the importance of developing relations in the fields of health and education, encouraging the return of Indian companies to contribute to urban development, road, infrastructure, and construction projects. He also emphasized enhancing cooperation in the field of digital technology through the exchange of training, qualification, and capacity-building programs.

He expressed his wishes for the Ambassador’s success in his diplomatic mission. The Ambassador of the Republic of India expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the warm reception, praising the distinguished historical relations between his country and the State of Libya.
