Tripoli, December 23, 2025 — The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, offered condolences to all officers and members of the Libyan Armed Forces on the death of Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Haddad, who passed away on Tuesday evening following a plane crash in Turkey.
In a condolence message, Field Marshal Haftar said, “The Armed Forces have lost one of their men who performed their military duty with full dedication and responsibility, bore the trust during critical stages in the nation’s history, and elevated their positions aligned with national values above any other interest.”
In the message, Field Marshal Haftar expressed his deep sorrow for this painful loss, extending condolences to the family, relatives, tribe, and city of the deceased, as well as to the Libyan people, praying to God Almighty to envelop the deceased with His vast mercy and grant his family and loved ones patience and solace.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces also offered his condolences to the Joint Military Committee (5+5) on the loss of Lieutenant General Al-Fitouri Gharibil, a member of the committee who was among those missing in this incident, expressing sincere condolences to his family and relatives.
