Egyptian talent Hamza Abdelkarim, the promising star of Al Ahly, has agreed to move to Spain’s Barcelona in the upcoming winter transfer window, as talks between the two clubs regarding the deal continue.

It has been clarified that Abdelkarim (17 years old) has already agreed to move to Barcelona, which has been seeking his services for some time to join the Catalan team’s academy.

Developments in the Transfer of Egyptian Player Hamza Abdelkarim to Barcelona

“The Egyptian talent Hamza Abdelkarim has said yes to Barcelona… The player dreams of moving to Barcelona, the two clubs are still in talks,” was stated.

Earlier reports indicated that Al Ahly does not object to Abdelkarim’s departure to Barcelona, but under certain financial conditions, which have so far prevented reaching a final agreement.

Al Ahly received an official offer a few days ago to loan Abdelkarim (17 years old), but the details regarding the final purchase clause are what are holding up the deal.

According to reports, Al Ahly does not in principle object to loaning the player to Barcelona, even if for free, but at the same time, its management wants to increase the value of the final sale clause, organize payment installments, and also include performance-related clauses.

Barcelona had set a clause to permanently purchase the player after the loan for approximately 5 million euros, including performance and goal-related bonuses, with the value of the deal to be paid in installments.

Al Ahly’s management is also seeking to include clauses during the loan period that guarantee it financial returns if Abdelkarim delivers a standout performance with the Catalan club.

Meanwhile, Al Ahly’s management is awaiting Barcelona’s decision regarding the terms of the loan contract. If they are not improved, the former will request an increase in the terms related to the final sale contract.

Barcelona Leads the Race

It has been confirmed that Barcelona is leading the race to sign the Al Ahly player during the upcoming winter transfer market. It was noted that negotiations were progressing well to bring the player on loan to Barcelona’s reserve team before Al Ahly raised its financial demands.

The young player was praised, described as: “a strong striker, a traditional center-forward with good finishing ability.”

Hamza Abdelkarim is viewed as one of the most prominent football talents in Egypt and Africa, especially after his standout performance in the recent FIFA U-17 World Cup finals held in Qatar, where Egypt’s “Pharaohs” exited the tournament in the round of 32 after losing to Switzerland.

During that tournament, Abdelkarim won the Man of the Match award more than once and scored on two occasions against Haiti and Venezuela. Hamza Abdelkarim has appeared for Al Ahly this season in 3 matches: two in the Egyptian League Cup and one in the CAF Champions League against JS Kabylie, which was held at Cairo International Stadium in the first round of the group stage and ended with the Egyptian team winning 4-1.
