In the city of Derna, an artist has presented an inspiring model of perseverance, transforming challenges into opportunities. After her painful experience with the aftermath of Storm Daniel that swept through the city, she — a graduate of interior design — chose to make art a means of recovery and hope.

She founded the “Tasli Center for Visual Arts” to be a space that combines creativity and education, embracing artistic talents of all ages. The center includes a fully equipped studio for photography and art production, alongside a training department that offers specialized workshops for children and youth in the fields of drawing, mobile photography, and fine arts.

Despite the significant losses suffered by the center, where the storm destroyed a large part of the space and equipment, she did not give up. Instead, she rebuilt the center from scratch and equipped it with artistic tools and supplies, allowing it to return more vibrant and active than before.

Today, the “Tasli Center” has become an open platform to support young talents in Derna, a place that reflects the spirit of beauty and creativity in the city, and contributes to spreading artistic culture and enhancing the role of art in society.

She looks forward to a broader future for the center, seeking to expand its activities and open new branches in other areas, continuing its mission of empowering youth and supporting visual arts, driven by a belief that creativity is capable of creating change and building hope.
