Wadi Al-Shati, December 9, 2025 – Wadi Al-Shati University and Tripoli University signed an agreement on Tuesday for academic and scientific cooperation between the two universities.

The signing ceremony was attended by the heads of both universities, along with the deputy for scientific affairs, the general secretary, deans of colleges, and directors of centers, departments, and offices at Wadi Al-Shati University.

The signing took place during a visit by a delegation from Tripoli University, which included a selection of faculty members and academic leaders. This step reflects the commitment of both universities to strengthening institutional cooperation and exchanging expertise, serving the path of academic and research development in Libya.

The agreement includes the exchange of academic expertise, providing opportunities for joint supervision and teaching between corresponding departments, implementing joint research projects, and establishing multidisciplinary research teams that serve national development priorities. It also involves developing practical training programs for students and enabling them to benefit from the laboratories and facilities of both universities.

The agreement also aims to enhance graduate programs at Wadi Al-Shati University’s colleges, particularly doctoral programs, through seat exchanges, developing academic supervision, participation in discussion committees, and adopting joint mechanisms to support the quality of scientific research and improve the efficiency of students and researchers.

In their speeches, the heads of the two universities emphasized that this step represents a starting point towards a strategic partnership that elevates the quality of education and scientific research, opening broader horizons for students and researchers, especially in the southern region, which is considered a scientific and research hub in need of greater integration among national universities.
