Tripoli – A responsible source at the Central Bank of Libya has revealed an imminent plan to issue a completely new version of the 50-dinar banknote, printed on polymer material and equipped with modern security and technical specifications.
This step is part of the monetary authorities’ efforts to protect the national currency, fortify cash transactions against counterfeiting, address liquidity crises, and improve the quality of currency in circulation in local markets.
Key technical features of the new banknote:
-
Raw material: Adoption of highly durable polymer material instead of traditional cotton paper.
-
Security standards: Equipping the denomination with advanced security features and visual technologies that are difficult to replicate or forge.
-
Lifespan: Increased durability of the banknote and its resistance to damage, weather conditions, and humidity compared to previous issues.
