On the other hand, medical and scientific circles have not overlooked the danger of the astronomical event. The French Astronomical Observation Society, in a statement to the French Press Agency, issued strong warnings.
The society confirmed that the real danger lies in looking directly at the sun’s disk without adequate protection, pointing to the risk of a serious injury known as a “black hole” in the retina.
