The head of Libya’s Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, criticized the state of football in the country, stating that Libyan clubs are facing chaos and weak organization, particularly regarding contracts with foreign professional players, in the absence of a clear vision for managing this issue.
Dbeibeh emphasized that the financial support allocated to the sports sector has not been reflected in performance levels or results, noting that the significant spending has not achieved the expected successes, whether for the Libyan national team or clubs participating in external competitions. This calls for a comprehensive review of the management mechanisms of the sports sector and improving the efficiency of financial resource investment.
