Trump: America will achieve unparalleled economic prosperity in 2026.

In a national address from the White House, U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States will achieve “an economic prosperity the world has never seen before.”

While opinion polls show growing dissatisfaction among Americans with his economic policies, Trump also used this primetime address to attack his Democratic predecessor, Joe Biden, and to denounce immigration.

Trump began his speech by saying, “Good evening, America. Eleven months ago, I inherited a disaster and I am in the process of fixing it.” However, the speech, broadcast live during primetime, was brief, and the only concrete announcement was the presentation of checks for $1,776 (a number referencing the year of the U.S. Declaration of Independence) to 1.45 million American soldiers.

Trump also asserted that prices, the main source of concern for households, are falling “rapidly,” while noting that the fight against inflation “is not over yet.”

He boasted again that he ended eight wars, a figure largely considered fanciful by experts, and spoke of the enormous $18 trillion in new investments in the United States that he has been able to attract since returning to power.

Trump said that thanks to him, drug prices in the United States will fall by up to “600%,” which is mathematically impossible.

Although his protectionist policies raise doubts among Americans, Trump reaffirmed that tariffs are his “favorite word,” and renewed his promise to end the subsidized health insurance system known as “Obamacare,” a move the Democratic opposition says will significantly increase household costs.

On another note, Trump asserted that many of the difficulties his citizens face were the result of an “invasion” of immigrants during Joe Biden’s presidency.

The U.S. President, who follows a policy of mass deportation accompanied by strict immigration restrictions, praised the fact that he has begun a process of “reverse migration or returning immigrants,” and accused immigrants of causing a housing crisis and “stealing jobs and putting pressure” on the healthcare system—in short, of living at the expense of taxpayers.
