French club Paris Saint-Germain announced via an official statement on Saturday that it has ended its legal and financial dispute with its former star Kylian Mbappé, after reaching a final settlement concerning unpaid wages and bonuses. This concludes one of the most prominent cases that has occupied the sports public opinion recently.
According to reports, the Parisian club decided to pay Mbappé’s dues within one month, in a step aimed at closing the page on the long-standing legal disagreement.
The club clarified in its statement: “Out of a sense of responsibility, and to definitively end a prolonged process, Paris Saint-Germain chose not to prolong this dispute,” adding that it now looks to the future and focuses on its sporting project and achieving collective successes.
Details of the Settled Amount
The labor court revealed that the total agreed-upon amount ranges between 60 and 61 million euros, including 55 million euros in unpaid salaries, in addition to approximately 6 million euros in holiday-related entitlements.
The club confirmed that it has settled all dues it considers legally obligatory, after completing the official procedures through the relevant authorities.
End of an Era and a New Beginning
Mbappé ended his career with Paris Saint-Germain after seven eventful seasons, subsequently moving to Real Madrid on a free transfer, where he receives an annual salary estimated at around 30 million euros.
During his time playing for the Parisian team, Mbappé scored 256 goals in 308 matches, becoming one of the club’s all-time top scorers, before embarking on a new challenge in his career with the Spanish club.
This settlement puts a definitive end to the dispute between the two parties and opens a new chapter for both Paris Saint-Germain and Mbappé, after a relationship that witnessed great successes and ended with a prolonged legal conflict.
