American electric vehicle leader Tesla has added a new model to its best-selling ‘Model Y’ category named ‘Long Range,’ with an extended range of up to 383 miles.
Tesla is adding a new model named ‘Long Range’ to its core SUV lineup, offering an additional range of approximately 69 miles compared to the standard ‘Model Y,’ with a starting price of £45,000.
Vehicle Engine
The new model is equipped with a rear-wheel-drive motor producing 292 horsepower, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. The top speed reaches approximately 250 km/h.
Vehicle Design
Visually, the ‘Long Range’ model appears identical to the rear-wheel-drive ‘Model Y,’ without the wide front and rear lighting units. All trims come with 19-inch wheels and tinted glass, but are available in only three colors: Stealth Gray as standard, while Pearl White and Diamond Black are optional extras costing £1,300 each.
Interior Design
Inside, there are fabric seats and a manually adjustable steering wheel, while retaining the central touchscreen without a display for rear-seat passengers, ‘Premium’ or ‘Performance.’ The vehicle’s luxury features include two wireless charging pads, an electric tailgate, as well as heated front seats and steering wheel.
Deliveries of the ‘Long Range’ model will begin next March, shortly after the rear-wheel-drive ‘Model 3 Drive.’
