Tripoli, February 14, 2026 – The Criminal Research and Training Center of the Public Prosecutor’s Office concluded a training activity as part of its plan for the second quarter of the 2025–2026 training year. The activity aimed to enhance the digital and institutional capabilities of the criminal justice chain in Libya.
It was stated that the training course, held at the Center’s headquarters, supports the vision of the Public Prosecution Authority for digitizing justice and maximizing the benefits from the digital transformation projects of the Authority and the Tripoli Security Directorate to improve performance.
It also aims to employ criminal statistics to enable the Criminal Research and Training Center to fulfill its role in foresight and forecasting, and to advance its societal responsibility as a developmental institution that seeks to collect data and information from criminal statistics that help monitor criminal behaviors.
According to the published information, the course was based on utilizing criminal statistics to empower the Center in performing its research and developmental tasks, through collecting and analyzing data related to criminal behaviors and associated variables, and understanding the dimensions of crime, its patterns, and the characteristics of perpetrators and victims.
This approach also contributes to providing a scientific evaluation of security and judicial responses and formulating recommendations aimed at corrective assessment to address criminal phenomena comprehensively. Tools for this include proposing appropriate policies – including security and criminal policies – for crime prevention, combating, and reduction where possible, and enhancing inter-agency cooperation to confront it.
