The United States embassy in Libya has welcomed the National Oil Corporation’s announcement of the results of a public oil and gas bidding round, stating it will help bring American innovation and technology to Libya’s energy sector.
In a statement posted on X, the embassy described the announcement as “encouraging news” for US-Libya economic cooperation. It noted that the Chargé d’Affaires attended the ceremony marking Libya’s first oil and gas bidding round in 17 years.
The embassy also congratulated the National Oil Corporation and the US energy firm Chevron, which was among the companies awarded contracts.

Chevron is a major American multinational energy corporation, originally founded in 1879 as the Pacific Coast Oil Company.
