Tripoli, February 11, 2026 – The Acting U.S. Ambassador to Libya expressed his delight at what he described as the welcome news for economic cooperation between the United States and Libya.
This came in a post published by the U.S. Embassy in Libya on its account on the X platform, during his participation with the National Oil Corporation on the occasion of announcing the results of the public bidding round in the oil and gas sector, the first such round in 19 years.
He stated, “We congratulate the National Oil Corporation and Chevron on this step, which represents new progress in our joint cooperation in the energy field. It also contributes to strengthening the presence of American innovation and technology in Libya’s vital energy sector.”

Tripoli is the capital and largest city of Libya, with a history dating back to the 7th century BC when it was founded by the Phoenicians.
