Benghazi, February 10, 2026 – The head of the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Committee of the House of Representatives discussed with the Indian Ambassador to Libya ways to enhance bilateral relations and develop joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

The meeting addressed the prospects of Libyan-Indian cooperation and ways to develop bilateral relations in political, economic, and educational fields, serving common interests and strengthening the partnership between the two sides.

The Ambassador expressed his thanks to the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee for his continuous efforts in following up on the affairs of the Indian community in Libya and his positive role in supporting communication and coordination to ensure the safety of the community and enhance bilateral relations.

The Indian Ambassador affirmed his country’s keenness to strengthen its diplomatic presence in Libya, announcing the intention to work towards opening an Indian consulate in the city of Benghazi, which would contribute to facilitating consular services.
