Tripoli, February 9, 2026 – The official in charge of running the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity met on Monday at the Ministry’s headquarters in Tripoli with the Ambassador of the European Union to Libya to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation and develop bilateral relations between the two sides.

According to the official page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting addressed aspects of cooperation between Libya and the European Union and mechanisms for elevating it to serve common interests, in addition to exchanging views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that Libya is keen to strengthen its partnership with the European Union and support paths of cooperation, particularly in the fields of training and technical support, which contributes to achieving stability and development.

For his part, the Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in strengthening the bonds of cooperation with the European Union, affirming the Union’s aspiration to enhance the partnership and support relations with Libya in various fields.

The meeting was attended by the Director of the European Department at the Ministry and the Head of the European Union Section within the Department.
