After months of rumors and leaks, Google has revealed its new budget-friendly phone, the Pixel 10a, through a teaser video, confirming the official launch of the device is imminent within the next two weeks.

It was announced that pre-orders for the phone will open on February 18, a date eagerly awaited by fans of the mid-priced Pixel series.

The teaser video showed glimpses of the phone’s design and one of its new colors, with a clear focus on aesthetic changes compared to the previous generation. The rear camera unit is now dual and completely flat without any protrusion, unlike the previous version which had a raised rim around the oval camera cutout.

Google also hinted at a new color leaning towards violet-blue, similar to the Iris and Indigo colors of previous versions, while the Berry color appeared faintly in the video’s background.

According to leaks, the Pixel 10a will feature a water and dust-resistant body with an IP68 rating, measuring 154.7 × 73.3 × 8.9 mm and weighing 186 grams. The phone boasts a 6.3-inch P-OLED display with a resolution of 1080 × 2424 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, a pixel density of 421 PPI, brightness up to 2700 nits, and protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which is resistant to impacts and scratches.

The phone runs on the updatable Android 16 system and includes the Google Tensor G4 processor, Mali-G715 MP7 graphics processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.

The rear camera is a dual-lens setup with 48 and 13 megapixels, featuring an ultrawide lens, and supports 4K video recording at 60 frames per second. The front camera is 13 megapixels and also supports 4K recording.

The phone includes a Nano-SIM slot and eSIM technology for cellular connectivity, a USB Type-C 3.2 port, an NFC chip, satellite positioning systems, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. It also comes with a 5100 mAh battery supporting 23-watt fast charging.

Expectations suggest that Google will continue to use bolder colors for the Pixel 10a, giving it a distinct and unique character compared to previous versions, while maintaining strong performance and a large battery.
