Ukraine’s largest private energy company, DTEK, announced on Tuesday that the overnight attack by Russia, using dozens of drones and missiles on energy facilities, was the most violent since the beginning of the year.
The company stated in a release, “Russia carried out its most powerful attack on the energy sector overnight since the start of the year. Power generation and distribution facilities were targeted.”
Escalation in the pace of Russian attacks
On Monday, the Ukrainian President stated that he had issued orders to the country’s military commanders to respond to the escalation in Russian attacks targeting logistical supply lines in the country, specifically railway infrastructure.
The President said via social media, “The Russian army continues to focus on targeting our logistical supply lines, especially railway infrastructure. Attacks occurred in the Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia regions, specifically targeting railway facilities.”
