Tripoli, January 1, 2026 – The Tajoura Municipal Council held an extensive meeting today, Sunday, to discuss the final arrangements and the security and administrative preparations for conducting the municipal council elections scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2026.

The meeting addressed the latest preparations and organizational procedures aimed at ensuring the electoral process proceeds as planned, in an atmosphere characterized by order and safety.

The meeting also reviewed mechanisms to enhance coordination and joint cooperation between the security agencies and representatives of the High National Elections Commission within the polling centers spread across the municipality. Emphasis was placed on the importance of creating suitable conditions to enable citizens to cast their votes easily and smoothly, in accordance with the highest standards of transparency and credibility.

The meeting was attended by the Director of Security, the Director of the General Operations Department, the Chairman of the High National Elections Commission, security leaders from the directorate, and officers tasked with supervising the electoral districts within the Tajoura municipality.
