A field visit was organized on Saturday in the city of Tripoli, titled ‘Theatrical Performances in Outdoor Spaces’ as part of the plan by the ‘National Center for Theater’. The visit aimed to study and analyze a number of selected proposed spaces to host theatrical performances in the open air, with the goal of testing the location’s suitability from a dramatic and technical perspective, and understanding the impact of architecture and the surrounding environment on the actors’ movement and audience interaction.
It was clarified that the visit involved practical discussions on how to utilize natural visual elements, movement paths, viewing angles, available lighting, in addition to safety and acoustic considerations in open spaces. This contributes to building theatrical performances capable of direct communication with the audience outside of traditional halls.
Appreciation was expressed for the commitment and interaction of the participants, valuing the spirit of teamwork and seriousness in implementing the field exercises. It was confirmed that the practical experience represents an essential step in transforming theoretical concepts into executable directorial solutions in non-standard spaces.
This visit is part of a training path that seeks to broaden the horizons of theatrical practice beyond closed halls, and to provide new opportunities for cultural interaction with the audience in public spaces, thereby enhancing the presence of theater in the local cultural scene.
