Tripoli, January 28, 2026 – The Administrative Control Authority has suspended three employees of the National Commercial Bank – Tarhuna branch for causing financial losses to the bank.

According to the Authority’s official page, the investigating member of the Authority examined the facts that the branch of the Commercial Bank in Tarhuna incurred financial losses due to accepting electronic clearing checks without sufficient balance to cover them, amounting to 24,000,000 Libyan dinars; a result of negligence and dereliction of duty by some bank employees; which led to several companies benefiting.

It stated that the investigating member recommended the suspension of (N – M – A) in his capacity as head of the sales department responsible for clearing at the bank “formerly”, and (A – A – A) in his capacity as head of the clearing department at the bank branch, and (M – A – S) in his capacity as former branch manager of the bank, from work as a precautionary measure; to preserve the evidence and documents of the crime or to prevent influencing witnesses, leading the head of the Authority to issue a decision to suspend them from work.

It indicated that, in execution of the Authority’s role and upon completion of its investigations into the case file; it was handled by referring the accused to the Disciplinary Council for Financial Violations; according to its jurisdiction.
