The de facto government’s move to ignore a decision issued by the legislative authority, which prohibits investment in oil wealth until a government is formed through free and fair elections, constitutes a serious violation of constitutional legitimacy and a direct assault on the will of the people represented by parliament.
This behavior can only be interpreted as an overt political rebellion against the legislative authority and an insistence on managing state affairs with the logic of de facto power, showing clear contempt for the law, legislation, and the very concept of the state. When parliamentary decisions become devoid of executive value, we are witnessing the effective collapse of the principle of separation of powers and the transformation of constitutional institutions into mere empty facades.
Continuing to manage oil wealth outside the framework of legitimacy and national oversight constitutes a disguised plunder of public wealth, and those responsible bear full political and legal responsibility for any damage to the country’s future, economy, and sovereignty. National wealth is not the property of a temporary government or an imposed authority, but an inherent right of the people and future generations.
The parliament’s silence regarding the non-implementation of its decisions, or its inability to follow up on them, places it, in turn, before a historical responsibility, as decisions have no value if they are not defended by constitutional tools and genuine political will.
Therefore, what is happening today is not merely a passing political crisis, but a dangerous path leading to the hollowing out of the state’s substance, the undermining of its sovereignty, and its transformation into a vulnerable entity whose wealth is managed without legitimacy or accountability. The continuation of this reality will inevitably lead to deepening division and the loss of what remains of trust between the citizen and the state. It is a bleak picture with regrettable consequences for all.
