Tripoli, January 20, 2026 – The General Security Apparatus and security units managed to apprehend members of a criminal gang in possession of $5,400 in counterfeit US dollars.
The apparatus stated through its media office that the apprehension operation followed investigations which led to the arrest of the suspects. During initial interrogations, the suspects confessed that the counterfeit money was brought into the country from abroad.
The apparatus confirmed that the necessary legal measures have been taken regarding those arrested, and they have been referred to the competent prosecution office.
