Manchester City, currently second in the English Premier League, has strengthened its defensive ranks by signing Crystal Palace captain and England defender Marc Guéhi. The move aims to address the shortage in the back line caused by multiple injuries, the club announced on Monday.
According to British media reports, the value of the deal is around 23 million euros. Manchester City stated in an official announcement that the 25-year-old defender has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract, lasting until the summer of 2031.
City’s signing of Guéhi comes as the team holds second place in the league table, seven points behind leaders Arsenal. This is amid the absence of several key defenders due to injury, most notably Croatian Joško Gvardiol, Englishman John Stones, and Portuguese Rúben Dias.
