Sebha, January 18, 2026 – The city of Sebha celebrated today, Sunday, the opening of the new headquarters for the city’s Emergency Police Department. The opening was attended by security and military leadership, aiming to enhance security stability and develop police infrastructure in the southern region.
The new headquarters, equipped according to modern standards, aims to enhance the speed of security response, control public streets, and provide better services to citizens. It represents a qualitative addition to the city’s security facilities.
Security leadership emphasized the importance of this project in building an integrated security system in Sebha, contributing to the enhancement of security and safety in southern Libya.
Sebha
Sebha is a major city in southwestern Libya, historically serving as a key crossroads for trans-Saharan trade routes. It gained prominence in the 20th century as a central hub for the Fezzan region and was a significant base for the Libyan military under Muammar Gaddafi’s rule.
