Tripoli, January 11, 2025 – The President of the High Council of State discussed the latest developments in the country’s political situation today with the Deputy Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya for Political Affairs.
During the meeting, which was held at the Council’s headquarters in Tripoli in the presence of the First Deputy and the Second Deputy, the two sides reviewed efforts to advance the political process. This aims to contribute to ending the state of division and achieving stability through a consensual path that meets the aspirations of the Libyan people.
Ways to resolve the dispute regarding completing the procedures of the High National Elections Commission were also discussed. This is considered the first step of the roadmap, paving the way for ending the political division and reaching comprehensive elections.
