TRIPOLI, January 8, 2026 – The Special Tasks Administration of the Ministry of Interior in the Government of National Unity announced that its patrols have raided a factory manufacturing boats for illegal migration in the Al-Quway’ah area, west of the city of Al-Qarabuli, as part of efforts to combat human trafficking.

The administration stated, in a post on its Facebook page, that the operation was part of its efforts to counter the phenomenon of illegal migration. Information was received from private sources indicating the existence of a site used for manufacturing boats specifically for smuggling illegal migrants in the Al-Quway’ah area.

It clarified that after obtaining permission from the authorized prosecutor at the Attorney General’s office, patrols from the Special Tasks Administration, affiliated with the General Administration of Security Operations, stormed the site and seized several boats prepared for use in human smuggling operations. It confirmed that this operation is part of the meticulous investigation and follow-up work it carries out to pursue criminal networks involved in exploiting human lives and harming national security, stressing its continued implementation of deterrent measures against anyone proven to be involved in such illegal activities.
