Tripoli – January 8, 2026 – The President of the High Council of State met today, Thursday, in the capital Tripoli, with the Head of the European Union Mission to Libya.

In a post published on his official account on the ‘X’ platform, the Head of the EU Mission stated that the meeting reviewed the progress achieved, along with the outstanding challenges in implementing the political roadmap facilitated by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya.

The Head of the European Union Mission explained that the meeting also discussed the importance of continuing the EU’s support for all parties and enhancing dialogue with the House of Representatives, stressing the need to adopt an approach based on constructive public participation and good faith work, which contributes to moving the political process forward.

In his post, he emphasized the importance of preserving the unity of the Libyan state with all its institutions and ensuring the continuity of public governance throughout the country, due to its fundamental role in protecting the Libyan economy.
