Algerian star Riyad Mahrez captured attention with a spontaneous, humane gesture after fulfilling a young girl’s wish to play with a ball with him.

A widely circulated video documented the moment Mahrez placed his phone on the ground before simply starting to play with the ball with the girl. The scene won the admiration of followers and ignited social media, where it was considered a sincere expression of the player’s humility and closeness to the public.

The incident took place inside the hotel hosting the “Desert Warriors” national team delegation in Rabat, on the sidelines of the team’s preparations for their match against the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the Africa Cup of Nations round of 16.

This gesture once again confirms that Mahrez’s stardom is not limited to his football skills and professional achievements, but extends to his humane behavior and modesty.

In recent days, Mahrez had previously helped a fan find a bag he lost after the Algeria vs. Burkina Faso match in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations being held in Morocco.

Mahrez (34 years old) shared via his official account on the “X” platform a tweet posted by an Algerian fan announcing the loss of a bag containing very important official documents, following the Algeria vs. Burkina Faso match held yesterday for the second round of the group stage.

Mahrez commented on the Algerian fan’s tweet, “Please help him.”
