New leaks reveal that Apple plans to launch its first foldable phone, featuring innovative technologies to compete with the leading companies in this field, Samsung and Google.
A 3D design was shared, allegedly showing what will be Apple’s first foldable device to be released next year.
It was stated in a video: “Next year you will only see 3 new iPhones: iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and this new foldable iPhone, which could potentially be your old iPhone.”
It was explained that Apple tested various foldable designs, including book-like designs, but ultimately settled on a book-style form factor.
If these leaks are accurate, this would put Apple in direct competition with companies that launched book-style foldable devices in 2025, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
These leaks have generated excitement among thousands of Apple fans in the comments.
Numerous reports over the past years have indicated that Apple plans to produce a foldable phone. It now seems almost certain that a foldable device will be unveiled in September 2026.
It was explained: “After years of leadership by companies like Samsung in developing and improving foldable devices, Apple has finally decided that 2026 is the right time to do the same.”
Apple plans to produce a premium phone that distinguishes itself from competitors by addressing the issue of the crease or wrinkle on the screen caused by repeatedly opening and closing the phone.
It was said: “One major drawback of foldable devices, regardless of the fantastic design, is the possibility of seeing and feeling the wrinkle in the middle of the plastic screen at the folding joints.”
It was confirmed that “Apple managed to solve this problem by using a metal plate to distribute pressure on the screen, along with adding liquid metal to the joints.”
The external appearance of the device will resemble a regular iPhone, approximately 9mm thick, with a 5.5-inch screen. It will also be equipped with four cameras: one on the outside, two on the back, and one inside the device.
Regarding security, it was claimed that Apple will reintegrate Touch ID technology into the power button instead of Face ID.
As for colors, the company is expected to use subdued colors for its foldable phone, after delighting its fans with orange and blue colors in the Pro series. The price is estimated to range between $2000 and $2500.
