A member of the Egyptian Football Association’s board of directors confirmed that the head coach of the Egyptian national team requested, since the UAE training camp, that the preparation camp for the Africa Cup of Nations be held early and inside the “Al-Hadaf” project, refusing to hold any external camps.
In statements, the member stated that Hossam Hassan praised the capabilities available within the Al-Hadaf project, confirming that he prefers to work only inside it due to the suitable atmosphere and technical stability it provides. He added that the Al-Hadaf project includes a dedicated building for the first team, noting that there had been a long-standing dream to create an integrated center for the national teams that rivals those owned by major footballing nations.
Hossam Hassan holds individual sessions with Egypt national team players
The board member explained that the president of the French Football Federation previously visited the Al-Hadaf project and praised its capabilities and infrastructure, reflecting the project’s value on an international level. He pointed out that the presence of a key figure with the team during the Agadir camp gave the players a strong morale boost, confirming a promise to present the best version of Hossam Hassan as head coach during the Africa Cup of Nations.
The member revealed Hossam Hassan’s keenness to hold individual sessions with the players, where he meets with defenders separately, as well as midfielders and attackers, as part of precise technical work and raising the level of focus.
He concluded his remarks by confirming that Hossam Hassan is undertaking a major project to develop the national team and is monitoring a number of youth national team players with a view to utilizing them in the future, expressing optimism for the upcoming tournament in light of the new planning for Egyptian football and Egypt’s possession of major stars both at the coaching and player levels.
