The Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) discussed plans to increase production and the 2026 project portfolios for Waha Oil Company, Mellitah Oil & Gas, Brega Petroleum Marketing Company, and the National Catering Company. These discussions took place during the general and annual meetings held on Sunday at the NOC headquarters in Tripoli, with the participation of boards, management committees, general managers, and specialists.
The NOC Chairman commended the companies’ achievements and efforts over the past year, stressing the need to give top priority to worker safety, training, environmental protection, and the completion of metering systems to strengthen governance and improve operational accuracy.
The meetings also reviewed the results of 2025 projects, during which the companies recorded notable achievements despite limited budgets. Waha Oil Company reached a peak daily production of 371,000 barrels of oil and 291 million cubic feet of gas, in addition to drilling one exploratory well and 61 development wells.
Mellitah Oil & Gas recorded its highest daily production rate at 180,000 barrels of oil and 1,583 million cubic feet of gas, and drilled one development well. Meanwhile, the National Catering Company successfully provided high-quality catering and accommodation services to sector companies at oil fields and ports.
As for Brega Petroleum Marketing Company, it inaugurated and operated 27 instant gas filling stations to meet the needs of vital sectors across the country, reflecting the NOC’s commitment to securing essential resources and ensuring the continuity of production.

Mellitah Oil & Gas
Mellitah Oil & Gas is a major energy complex located on the coast of Libya, established as a joint venture between Libya’s National Oil Corporation and Italy’s Eni. The site, operational since the early 2000s, plays a crucial role in processing and exporting natural gas and oil, primarily from the offshore Wafa and Bahr Essalam fields. Its development was part of a significant international effort to utilize Libya’s hydrocarbon resources following the lifting of sanctions in the early 21st century.
Brega Petroleum Marketing Company
Brega Petroleum Marketing Company is a state-owned Libyan corporation responsible for the distribution and marketing of petroleum products domestically and internationally. It was established as a key subsidiary of the state’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) following the nationalization of Libya’s oil industry in the 1970s. The company plays a central role in the country’s fuel supply chain and retail network.
National Catering Company
The National Catering Company is a state-owned enterprise in Saudi Arabia, historically established to provide large-scale catering and food services, primarily to the nation’s military and other government sectors. It plays a significant role in national food security and logistical support, evolving over time to serve a broader range of institutional clients.
