Vince Zampella, one of the creators of the famous video game “Call of Duty,” was killed in a car accident, according to American media reports on Monday.

Local channel “NBC 4” reported that Zampella was killed on Sunday while driving his Ferrari on a road in northern Los Angeles. His studios produced some of the world’s best-selling video games.

Zampella was known for his involvement in developing the “Call of Duty” series and for founding “Respawn Entertainment,” the studio behind games like “Titanfall,” “Apex Legends,” and “Star Wars Jedi.”

He left “Activision” under controversial circumstances
After beginning his career in the 1990s as a designer of shooter games, he co-founded “Infinity Ward” in 2002 and contributed to the launch of “Call of Duty” in 2003. The company “Activision” later acquired his studio.

He left “Activision” under controversial circumstances and founded “Respawn” in 2010, which was acquired by “Electronic Arts” in 2017.
