He simply wrote the phrase “Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return” on his Instagram account. These words received an immediate response from the sports community, as football institutions and fans expressed their condolences to the player, who is known for his close ties to his family members.
Official condolences were also published and addressed to Ziyech and his family.
Social media platforms also saw an influx of supportive messages from fans expressing their solidarity with Ziyech. Some recalled the strong relationship between the player and his late brother, who had previously played futsal and was an important pillar in the player’s family and sporting environment.
